About 3 years ago, I was in a forum chatting with people about marketing. I had been online for a couple of weeks, and I had just started up my blog.

In one of the threads, someone asked a question about landing pages. Having just watched several hours of video on landing page optimization, it was fresh in my mind, so I shared what I knew.

(this was literally minutes after learning it myself....)

The guy was really thankful for my answer, and private messaged me for more information. So, I sent him to my blog, where he found a link to the training program that I had just watched.

He bought the product through my affiliate link that day!

I was floored! At first, I thought it was a fluke, butit began happening again and again.

The more I helped people with the simple problems that I knew how to fix, the more people would come to my site and buy products to help solve their bigger problems.

And, they were using my affiliate links!

I was struggling at the time to get my own sites found in search, and after months of wasting time waiting around on Google, I went in search of other sources of traffic for my niche sites.

Since I was having such luck in the forums, I went to niche forums for my specific sites, and to my surprise, I got a lot of the same results!

However, that was when I found out that forum marketing isn't always that easy....

I made a lot of mistakes in those early days, and got banned more than once for my efforts. It took a lot of time to learn all the ropes, and there was nobody teaching how to do this.
